I believe, as mentioned earlier by willwin; we should meet the congress members to win their support for Visa Recapture Bill. IV is requested to set up the date and meetings. We are ready to participate.

You are right, Ramesh, sadly people have time to check for Bill updates and get their spirits down with amendment removal news but no time to get more friends to join or contribute. Please wake up people and contribute, and persuade your friends / colleagues at work you know to join IV. I got a weird response (chat) from a close friend saying she would rather donate to Myanmar/ China victim that her own Immigration cause, but I haven't given up, I will try to persuade such friends even though that raised my B.P. Please, people who seek advice and answers, consider contributing first. Bump.

It means USCIS has pre-adjudicated your I-485 if it was filed before october 2008.
i thought it meant that you had to wait 4 months after your priority date is current to have any expectation of adjudication... no?

I see that we all are very busy fighting amongst ourselves. Did all of you get a chance to "Digg" the story so it gets maximum publicity possible? This is the only story so far that carefully analyzes the 485 fiasco and longer it runs the better it will be for us.

I have my sister in law from India on H4. She got married after her husband got his 797B approved and so she does not have her own 797C. The DMV wants her own 797C approval notice to give her a temporary drivers license. How does she get that? Can she file some petition with USCIS to get it?

For H4 it would be his/her passport and visa makes two identifications, but some people consider it as just one identification so try with marriage certificate or Indian driving license. Some people will have different last name in marriage certificate and passport who need to provide some additional documents which are in DMV list. They accept documents only which are in their list.

My app was received at the NSC on June 28th at 9:02am. I havent receviced receipts or checks cashed. If for some reason my app is denied or there is a request for evidence after the 17th of Aug are we able to resubmit or will it be too late?

I have not received the physical receipt notice yet. But the online case status says "On July 11, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION" even though it was physically delivered and signed at Nebraska Service center on June, 15th. I will post once I get the physical copy of receipt notice to update every one.
May be some others that have already received the physical copy of receipt notices can clarify the difference between the receipt date on the notice vs. the online status that says ""On July 11, 2007, we received..."
UPDATE: shreekhand's post above from moments ago seems to have answered this question.
