Thanks to the glorious service of the Atlanta center :mad: I missed the I-485 bus by 7 days( Labor cleared on Aug end ). Many people with later PD's got cleared from the Chicago PERM center . Now I just watch as all members get their EAD's and AP's while I wait with nothing but hope and watch legislation after legislation fail in the senate and house , and the letters flying all over the place .

Do I need to do anything to get it moving? How do I put a Service Request on 485? The online system to put an eRequest only lets you do it for N400 or I90.
It does not hurt to send a interfiling request letter from your attorney. You can raise a Service request (via phone) if it is outside of normal processing time (30 days past after being current).

Good they have seem to have read recently published IV analysis and recommendations and provided a much more detailed bulletin this month for the community.
agreed. kudos to IV core to push for more detailed explanations without which proposals for fixing this backlog also becomes difficult.

On a more important note:
WHY is the "Contact us" link SO hard to find?? I was required to put in the IV phone number and it took me more than 10 mins to find it. I highly suggest that the administrators put the contact link on the homepage itself.

I am glad to see sked A here. I have been following this forum for a long time now and there is nothing for healthcare prof though the discussions were very helpful. As I can see it, the july VB put benefits on those going through AOS but as a result those whom I know who are scheduled for interview in their home countries in AUg. was cancelled.

The AOS reversal did not change availability of visa numbers.

And what makes all of you think that future applicants will come only from these 4 countries, they could come from Timbuktu fora ll you care and use up their fair share in EB category and you may not have the visas that you hope would be unused visas. Then what?????????

My I-140 approved at TSC on 02/23 and my attorney received the approval notice.
But the online status is still showing the case as pending. I thik TSC is offline on the status now.

I happen to be a freelance writer (not a journalist). In response to this thread, I have penned a 2,700 word commentary on the current challenges titled "The Plight of Promise". Guys good news from my side. Just got most awaited Card production Ordered emails for my wife and my son. I have not received the email for myself though. When I checked the status on Case Status Online site, I found that 485 for all three of us have been approved.
My priority date was Oct 2004 at NSC. Came to US in Feb 2000, so almost 8.5 years of waiting is finally finally over. I hope that NSC picks up the pace and approve all the people who are current.
Trust me!! I am not going anywhere. I will enjoy my green but at the same time will always work relentlessly to get the immigration reforms. I also prey from God almighty that all my friends/family members stuck in EB2/EB3 will also get their GC ASAP.
Wish you all the best, even though I have crossed the fence towards the greener pasture, I am always there to lend you a hand and help you climb up and jump across the fence.

If you pass substantial presence test and treated as resident for tax purposes, you get the check from IRS. Mots of us file 1040A for taxes. Only few of us do not qualify as residents for tax purposes file 1040NR, those don't get.
If your spouse doesn't work and have a child, then you may qualify as head of household and sometimes get bigger check.
Only few desi's will not qualify for this check but whoever stays here for more than couple of years and filed taxes in 2006, don't worry.

I've sent 7001 to Ombudsman , Contacted Congressional offices and ultimately filed a Service request in Nov 1st week. After all this NSC opened my case yesterday Dec 9th and the status changed to "RFE sent" - there you go ! They bought at least 2 months extra time.
What a bunch of jokers at NSC - my case was extremely straight forward :(
