Well, I too had a Infopass last week to check on a Soft LUD on my I-140, I heard slightly different story, they did not say adjudicating the EB application, but Process the EB application, which I guess what they were saying is pre-adjudicating the cases, in the last few weeks with lot of cases being transferred (both EB2/EB3) to different offices, pre-adjudicating the cases makes sense....but hey, we are talking about USCIS here, we never know, whatever you heard could be true too......
One piece of information that made me happy reading your comment was "a directive from the DHS/USCIS that they want to separate the legal stuff from the illegal stuff", this is good news.....but wondering what does legal/illegal mean to USCIS anyway......and how does it help us???

I'd say that some small-medium companies either in India or the 50-50 US bodyshops will happily ask the prospective-H1b to pay up Rs. 1,00,000 towards Schumer's fees :D
Anyways, most of these bodyshops in US collect H1b fees from the applicants in India, right ?
Infy, TCS, Satyam etc., will hire more janitors to bring their H1b/L1 % in US :D Or even buyout janitorial services companies :)

yes, i had an unexpired h1b/i-94. yes, i do have friends who were not on h1b/i-94 and still got approved from boa. for some reason, i believe, its pretty much the agent who handles your case decides on these issues. i remem' for one or two things which are supposed to be important, my agent asked me not to worry about and i dont think i gave him a copy of my h1b visa either.

From day 1 she is stuck on unexpired I-94 & till today she asks me to furnish that. No good news for me. I am EB3-I.
By the way, if the PD is current for those who have already applied for I-485, does it mean they are guaranteed to get their GCs processed? What if EB2-I becomes U in September? Just wanted to know the importance of a PD becoming current for folks who have already applied for 485.

One way to increase participation is to involve the Indian student associations of the various universities of the area. They are usually pretty well organized and members are usually willing to support such causes. Also support from ISA's from top notch schools goes a long way to show the legal immigrant population as a highly educated bunch.

Looks like USCIS did all the easy work in June and now they are getting to grip with the reality (that they cannot process even 140K GC in a year!!!). How shameful. May be all the USCIS folks worked so hard during the last few weeks in June that they would have taken a long break from work after June:D:D
If there is a official press release regarding the visa number wastage, then we can take that along with the July 2 visa bulletin and meet with lawmakers to get some accountability from USCIS. This is BS.

We just hope for the better new fiscal year that will start from October 1, 2007.

IRS faq clearly states that everyone on the tax return should have ssn. Even if one has ITIN no one will get the extra refund. Please read IRS faqs

I myself am filing for extension to get ssn for my wife, i have her EAD but she is in India, so have to wait for her to come back and file for ssn.

A: No. The law does not allow stimulus payments to people who file a return using an ITIN. A taxpayer must have a valid Social Security Number to qualify for the stimulus payment. If married filing jointly, both taxpayers must have a valid Social Security Number. And children must have valid Social Security Numbers to be eligible as qualifying children.

I know 3 friends of mine who got an email for USCIS rearding the GC approval. They all had priority dates around April-June 2004 EB3 India. These are the lucky ones who got labor cleared in 2-3 months (just prior to BEC/PERM) and had filed 485/140 concurrently.

I read in one of the Ron's post -CHc trying to stop even small immigration bills which has no amesty in it.So even the nurse recapture bill is at stake.
So ,I'm sorry -I beleive no one will even touch our case.Apply in EB2 port PD or get new PD either will be helpful .But seeing new backlog for I 140 its terrible.
I might apply for Canadian GC-Having kids here ,man they are adapted to this country living.That's the only thing bothering - kids future.
So this bill this year is at stake for sure.No one cares ...including change-what change there woudnt be any change in new party too.Its all drama going.I lost the trust.Its as if EB3 is not educated.
I'm just wondering-Will this problem be there if it were for ROW-or is it our color...that they dont want to aid.It's sure racism.
How many EB3 are there in total...Who asked them to flood the applications last year? :mad:
Its bloody hell out here.no wonder some people become saddist later half ...who woudnt when they are treated like this from begginning.
Now I have to hate myself applying in EB3.:rolleyes:
EB2 guys have been diverted from participating in any campaign now.so no bothering congressmen.
I have mailed to Senator Menendez -NJ thanking him for introducing the new bill and to do the needful.So far no news.
