My I-140 got approved yesterday through NSC. Petition was filed on 4/1/2008. I am in EB-3 category.

My father filed his Labor Cert. in Aug 1996. I was 19 at the time. He then filed his I-140 on July 2000, and his I-485 on Dec 2000. He received his Greencard in August 2001. I was 24.
According to this faq from Shusterman: http://www.shusterman.com/hr1209-faq.html
the new law provides that she would be automatically reclassfied to an appropriate category, presumably family-based 2B, and that she retain her father's original priority date. This would be the date that his employer submitted the labor certification application.
Does this apply to me? According to this, would I retain my father's Priority Date of Aug 1996? I currently have an approved I-130 with a priority date of Jan 2002 under F2B which my father filed after he got his greencard.

Restamping is not required. But just make sure you show your new approval notice to IO at POE. Done this couple of years back

Hi,
I have applied for my H1B transfer from my current employer to a new company. I have not had any issues with my current employer with pay or anything like that. I have maintained my H1B status with my salary coming on time as promised and have all the paystubs and correct documents. My new employer is a big american MNC and they have hired a well known law firm for transfer process.
My only question is I have not informed my current employer yet and will inform him in a weeks time once my LCA is done and transfer is filled. He will not be very happy about this and I have initially signed an offer letter which says I will work with him for atleast a year and its only been 6 months so far. Can he create any problems in my transfer by cancelling my current H1 or any other problems with my reliving? Pls help.

I was also in the same boat couple of months back and got two appointments. Technically we can send a letter to USCIS with explanation. But my attorney suggested me to go for the second appointment. So I went twice..

I got H1 this year. I was applied my ssn on oct 9 th. still i didn't get my ssn number. two days back ssn people called and told that "in online it is showing your EAd card. so we can give u ssn if you bring the EAD card". My question is if i give my EAD, will the h1 get cancelled. please suggest me.

My Green card Priority date is April 2004 under EB3 category.
I-140 was approved 1yr back and I-485 applied in August 2007.
Where to check the current processing dates and when will we receive Green card?
Any idea still howmuch time will it take to get GC for the people with above PD date?
Do i need to check the URL https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp?

Hello,
Our H1B/H4 status has been approved with 3 yr extension. We have an approved AP also. As of today, I am on H1 (don't want to use it) and my spouse is working using EAD (got the EAD as a resultant of my 485 dependent).
Now, I have two Q's?
1. Since she is working using EAD and now that her H4 extension is approved, will this approval invalidate her EAD ?
2. If we go for stamping (and that our H1/H4 will be stamped), will that stamping also invalidate my spouse's EAD ? We can very well come back using Advance Parole, but to be on safe side we want to get the stamping done (as others suggest). Don't know what would be the correct and best way. Appreciate your response and advice.

I am trying to get I140 approval notice using FOIA G639 form. While filing this I have all the info but one section asks which document I am requesting and other info like location of that document.
How to know that. My I140 receipt and I1485 receipts start with SRC. Does this mean that I140 approval notice is also at Texas Service Center. With all the bi-specializaiton mess I forgot how things are now (where is I140 processed). If anyone have more thoughts please let me know.

I had the same case. Call up the 800 number in the reciept and find options where you can change the address on the phone. The reason I tried this was because as the # is not in the system you can't even report a problem with the case.
Now when the representative is available, tell them the issue and they will connect you to someone who can verify the status for you. The next layer rep will ask your name and address for verification and tell you the status.

Thats not an issue looks like. When you go for FP, just ask them to see if your name is correct in the system with you A number. Thats more important thatn the spelling on notice.
